2012 Gowns

Happy birthday Lindsay! In celebration of her birthday and finding her exceptional Monique Lhullier wedding dress last week, I was inspired to browse 2012 wedding gowns.

Hello gorgeousness is all I have to say! Most designers have already unleashed their 2012 spring collection of wedding gowns and there is a whole of prettiness happening. Slimming trumpet dresses are still a go with touches of floral emblems and soft ruffled fabrics. I’m noticing quite a bit of billowing and brilliant draping gowns in the new collections, so in 2012 we are welcoming back A-lines and ball gowns. Who is your designer of choice for 2012?

2012 Wedding Gown Collections (in order): Pronovia Gowns (1 & 2), Monique Lhuillier Gown, Ines di Santo Gown, Lela Rose Gowns, Melissa Sweet, Enzoani Gown (2011-2012 Collection)

Those pretty gowns should leave your Friday on a good note. See you next week!

Why Hire A Proposal Planner?

Would you cook a five course meal and serve it on a paper plate? Of course not. Hiring a proposal planner to help with your romantic (and stress-free) execution is the same idea. Your special someone and her ring deserve better than a thoughtless idea or chances are you wouldn’t be proposing. The reality is, your proposal story will be told again and again and again… It can easily be one your future fiancee is excited to share. An experienced and creative proposal planner can take a proposal from thoughtless to thoughtful, and it’s worth every penny! We’ll prove it!

Proposal Planners Can Help Avoid Arguments:

True story! It’s a common theme for couples to get into tiffs on their proposal day. Some may wonder, why is this? Typically, the guy is so focused on everything going smoothly and in a timely manner, that any delay or off-set caused by his soon-to-be fiancee strikes his anxiety cord. When you have a proposal planner taking care of the set-up and timeline, you aren’t so focused on your plans unraveling at the seams. If she is a little delayed, no big deal; it’s definitely not worth the argument because your proposal planner and vendors can adjust. With a simple text message to your coordinator, your problems are solved.

Proposal Planners Provide a Female’s Perspective

If you don’t have a sister or trust any of the females in your life to not spill the beans, a proposal planner will be your best friend. A proposal planner is not in your circle of friends, so your secret is kept safe. With your proposal planner, you can find reassurance by confirming your proposal idea is romantic, thoughtful and female approved.

Proposal Planners Help Personalize Your Proposal:

You definitely want to find a proposal planner with the best resources and experience. A creative and experienced proposal planner can help brainstorm personalized proposal ideas so your marriage proposal is unlike any other guys out there. We cannot stress enough…personalizing your proposal is key. Our team, The Yes Girls, specialize in personalized, remarkably detailed, marriage proposals and that’s the only way we believe it should be done. Whether it’s a small intimate setting or an elaborate affair, proposals should exuberate originality and be catered to your relationship, considering no relationship is identical to another.

Proposal Planners Plan Well:

It’s really that simple. If you don’t have the time or the resources, such as relationships with quality and affordable photographers in your area, your proposal planner will. Creating a thoughtful proposal is not based on having an endless budget (although that would be nice wouldn’t it?), but on the right vendors and creative details. A proposal planner has resources and/or does the intensive research to make sure come day-of, your proposal will be flawlessly executed. The small, thoughtful details such as her favorite photo, flower, or painting take a proposal from good to wow. You’ll be too busy to worry about all the elements coming together, but your proposal planner is not. From our own experience we know with an amazing group of vendors and a proposal planner contracting, negotiating with, and confirming vendors/set-up, your proposal agenda will be orchestrated effectively all behind the scenes, so you can enjoy the proposal day with your girlfriend. You just bring the ring!

Hopefully you are now convinced you can actually enjoy planning your marriage proposal. No need to dread the “romance stuff” any longer.

We Say “Yes” Wednesday

Welcome back for another week of We Say Yes Wednesday! This week I want to tackle the subject of mailed invitations vs. electronically mailed invites. It can be hard to gage when it is right and/or appropriate to send an email or mail an invitation. I have used both for many different occasions when it comes to wedding festivities. I would never say one is right over the other, some events are just more suited with a certain invitation. Below is my opinion on when to use which style.

Mailed Invite/Card: Showers, asking bridesmaids to be in your wedding, thank you cards and wedding invitations.

I specifically say shower because it is fun for the bride to have it to hold onto, as well as it sets the theme for the shower. Thank you cards and notes to your bridal party still should be written. These hand written cards really go a long way! Wedding invitations I am going to put in both categories even though I think everyone should still stick to mailed invitations so people can take them with them on that day or put in clear view so they don’t miss the details.

E-vite: Bachelorette Parties, Save the Dates, and Rehearsal Dinners

The reason I say e-vite to bachelorette parties is because their is normally a lot of information shared: timeline, cost, what to bring etc and that can’t always be shared on a mailed invitation. Save The Dates’s are in this section because I am always big on saving money and this is a great way to do it. You can still get creative as well. I have seen so many videos and picture slideshows now that couples send out! Last, is the rehearsal dinner, I still love a cute rehearsal dinner invite, but depending on the number of people and how soon you need an answer this is a great tool. Paperless Post is a new website that sends out e-vites, but it is much fancier than the normal e-vite!

Let us know in the comments when you have used a real invite and an e-vite!

John + Lindsay’s Proposal Video: Part II

There is nothing like capturing a proposal on film. You can’t fake or explain the raw emotion of complete and utter happiness when you watch a proposal video. We shared the proposal photos with you last week, but now you can sit back and relax as you watch John and Lindsay’s proposal story come to life. Enjoy!

Monday “Rocks”!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend… my fellow Yes Girls and I sure did! It was our close friend, Melissa Disston’s wedding in Seattle. It was absolutely beautiful and everything went great! Congratulations to her and her new husband Mike! We love you guys! Melissa actually inspired my engagement ring picks for this week. I have known Melissa since 7th grade and since then she has always been an original, one of kind, creative and at some times, random girl, but that’s why I love her! :) These rings represent that very unique and “creatively random” way that remind me of her. Check them out…

I hope you have enjoyed these one of kind engagement rings! Again, congratulations to Melissa and Mike!

Love,
