A Yes Girl Gets Married: The Video

Ecstatic doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about today’s post. Today I get to share our wonderful wedding trailer from Carpe Diem Productions. After all the crazy weather predictions (there was an 80% chance of tornado two days before the wedding…), the emotional roller coaster of last minute changes in RSVPs (because every bride knows what I’m talking about here), and my hopes to fulfill my life-long dreams of the perfect wedding, I can finally say that I am a married woman who had the best day of her life on April 24, 2016. (Well, maybe the birth of our children down the road will be better… but it’s a pretty high bar!) Here is a little clip to show you some of the magic that unraveled on our wedding day.

Pure bliss :)

Unique Places to Register for Your Wedding

When you’re getting ready to register for your wedding, it’s easy to immediately resort to the well-known stores that everyone else uses (Crate + Barrel, Pottery Barn, Bed Bath & Beyond). Sure, these stores have just about everything you could think of, in any color/print you could think of, but chances are, you might wind up less-than-enthused about your home decor when you put it all together.  When you register, no matter how much you love what you pick out in the store, it always looks a little blander when you mix it into the rest of your decor.  The key to loving what you pick out, even in your home, is to mix it up a little.  When you want to go plain and simple, consider a bold pattern or texture.  When you want to stick to a color scheme, choose an accent color to make certain pieces really stand out.  And when you want to register at one of those cliche stores, consider one of these fun stores instead:

What to Wear to a Spring Wedding 2016

While we all look forward to Spring, it’s still an awkward time of year weather-wise.  Depending on where you’re at in the country, there’s a possibility for any type of weather: rain, snow, sunshine and 90 degrees, or tornadoes.  This makes dressing for a wedding extra hard, considering you won’t know exactly what the weather will do until the day of.   While it’s likely to be relatively warm, it’s always good to be prepared for other conditions.  My go-to place to shop for special occasion outfits is LuLu’s.  Whether you need a formal gown or casual sundress, you can find one there!  For Spring weddings, it’s always safe to go with a maxi dress.  This allows you to stay cool if you’re outside in the warm sun, or can be dressed warm with a cute jacket.  If you’re lucky and it just happens to be warm where you are year-round, then opt for a pastel or floral dress or romper.  These look extra cute and Springy, and will also keep you cool if necessary.  Regardless of which option you choose, remember to dress fairly conservatively and NEVER wear white!

Orange County Hanging Lights Wedding Proposal

Light Up The Night + Dance With Me

Christian’s girl, Dianne, has always begged Christian to slow-dance with her. He is always denying her and saying that he “can’t” dance. But for his proposal Dianne’s dreams came true! Dianne thought she was going to the park with some friends to check out an engagement shoot location (for her just engaged friend), but in fact her girlfriends escorted her right to Christian who was nestled under a gigantic oak tree filled with a hundred hanging mason jars! Christian invited Diane to slow down for the first time to an acoustic rendition of “Shut Up and Dance With Me” (side note- I have never liked the song so much after hearing the acoustic version) and as the song came to a close, behind him trickled in both their families! A couple of the family members held a sign that read “WILL YOU DANCE WITH ME FOREVER?”. The couple finished their first slow down under the stars and then he got down on one knee and popped the question!
