If you live anywhere besides Southern California, this past weekend was a little chilly for you! My fireplace was broken in as the temperatures dropped below 35, and my comfy-sweat pants definitely got their work out :) So as I did everything in my power to stay inside and keep warm, I sat down with my boyfriend and did a puzzle. That’s right, 6 hours and 1000 pieces later, we finished a puzzle that ended up looking like the state of Texas! While some may call us “old souls” and some may make fun of us for spending an entire Saturday afternoon doing a jigsaw puzzle, I have to say, I quite enjoyed myself. We had college football on as background noise (by the way, did you see how the Oklahoma State Pokes distorted the Baylor Bears?!), and enjoyed chatting the afternoon away.
So, my suggestion for this holiday season, cuddle up with a soft blanket, a crackling fire place, maybe a cup of cocoa, and grab that loved one to spend time working on a puzzle. It’s good for your brain and your heart :)
You could even make a wooden disc that says “do a puzzle” and put this idea in your date night jar!
