This week we are coming back to the Lone Star State with two (completely different) date ideas! First of all, it’s the last week of the Texas State Fair! So before that makes it’s grand exit for another year make sure you check it out! So grab your girl and your antacids (Fair Food will get ya), call in sick to work and go check it out. If you aren’t the type to just want to walk around and check out the different shopping booths and petting zoos, then make a game up some sort of game. Maybe it’s a competition on who can spot the most outrageous cowboy boots; or how many non-Big 12 University t-shirts can you find; or who is willing to eat the craziest fair food (you know you want to try fried butter or fried beer)! Texas culture at it’s finest….
If you’re into something a little more sophisticated, check out the Dallas Museum of Art this week! Did you know it’s free?! Yep, completely free! My date night suggestion, hit up one of Klyde Warren Park’s Food Trucks and enjoy the (almost) fall temperatures with a little picnic. Then head into the museum across the street. I went last week and it was really fun! Right now they are featuring an exhibit of jewelry that is a modern take on African village jewelry! They also have a wonderful American History exhibit with oil portraits of important figures like George Washington! A little higher-class Texas culture for ya…
