With all the incredible wedding proposals that we have had in the last couple of weeks I thought today would be a good day to sit back and remember what we do and why we love to do it. Planning a proposal is so much more than just asking those 4 little words, it’s the start of your life together as a married couple. Wether you’re living together already or you just met a couple of months ago, this question will most certainly change your life forever! Here are a couple of reasons why I absolutely love being part of The Yes Girls Events, the original marriage proposal planners!
1) Guys come to us in all different stages of the planning process and stay involved in the whole thing. Some have the idea all ironed out and just need someone to set up the whole thing that day, and some guys have no idea how to create something spectacular, but they know that they want to “wow” their woman.
2) It truly is a form a chivalry. I was one of those girls that grew up dreaming about my wedding; I knew the type of chair I wanted, the style of linens and definitely that the theme would be something timeless. But when it came to planning my proposal I knew that this was my future husband’s chance to shine. This is the one piece of the whole wedding process that I have zero say in and that he gets to take full credit for! Taking this opportunity to really express how much he loves me is so genuine and chivalrous.
3) I get to be creative. What job has you waking up and first thing in the morning figuring out fun ways to incorporate dogs into the event? I think it’s super fun to figure out ways to bring in fun quirks that couples share with each other into their proposals!
4) I love love love reading the guy’s questionnaires. One of my love languages is words of affirmation so reading the kind words that these men share with us about their ladies is so beautiful to me. I would say that I tear up with about 60% of the questionnaires and I always feel like these girls should read the kind words that are spoken about them. Seriously, these things are incredible and so so romantic.
5) I get to be a Yes Girl. I know it’s not hard to believe, but this job was honestly my dream job for years before it was even offered to me. As soon as Heather told me that I could officially start telling people that I was a “Yes Girl” I started crying. I’m a dork, but changing my work status on Facebook to this job was such an awesome moment in my life. I get to work with a bunch of girls that make me laugh, care about me, and encourage me on a daily basis. Seriously, I love my job.
