Before I share today’s event, it’s with a heavy heart that we remember 9/11 and the families that lost loved ones. They are in our prayers today.
I’m jumping from engagements and fast forwarding to babies so bare with me! A couple weekends ago Kyle and I had quite the experience; we found out amongst family and friends if we would be welcoming a baby boy or baby girl in February! With the help of my future sister-in-law with Craft It Out, we had a gender voting station, onesie banners, cookie toppers and custom bottle labels for the pink and blue drinks! The kiddos loved the pink and blue beach balls floating in the pool while the adults pigged out on baby sized appetizers! I was so in love with all the personalized details I had to share!
My favorite part was holding off and finding out we were having a BOY amongst cheering family! We decided to do a spin off the balloon popping idea to reveal the gender. We got seven black balloons and the party store filled them with blue and pink confetti. Four balloons were filled with the color of the baby’s gender (blue) and the other three were filled with pink. We asked our family and friends to participate in the revealing of the gender via a trivia game. As someone guessed the correct answer s/he got to choose which balloon we popped.
It worked out PERFECTLY! It came down to the last balloon!!! It was SOOOOO difficult not to peek in the envelope but it was well worth the wait to see the blue confetti amongst a roaring crowd! It’s a moment I will never forget.
The Yes Girls, Kendall and I, will both be welcoming baby Boys in January/February 2015! I guess we should get used to more baby decor!
