One of Brijesh’s favorite moments with his new fiancee, Minal is the first time they said, “I love you.” When he told us how it happened, it was like seeing a movie unfold…a weekend in Miami, it starts pouring rain, they share a kiss and “I love you” comes pouring out. It was such a precious memory and way too good not to incorporate in their proposal. Here’s the catch, no one expected water to actually be a part of their proposal! Lets just say, the storyline below is a must-read!
First off, I will start by saying the proposal turned out to be beautiful even with a couple mishaps. That said, there were some pretty random flukes with it but Brijesh persevered. Brijesh wanted it to be a complete surprise so his plan was to propose right after she landed at the Chicago airport. Now, fast forward to the proposal day. Minal’s flight is over 2 hours late! She was already landing at 8:45pm so now it’s getting REALLY late. Do we postpone? Brijesh, nervous already, wants to continue as planned. Minal and friend land at airport. Surprise! Limo is waiting for them instead of Brijesh. Inside limo is a bouquet of her favorite flowers. Limo is 5 minutes away. It is now pushing midnight. Sprinklers go off!! Yes, the “theme” is rainy lights but he didn’t call for waterworks! She is five minutes away! Crew grabs the props and set up near lit gazebo. They turn off tree lights because sprinklers aren’t gently watering the area. Side note: thank goodness we purposefully chose a pretty park with gazebo; parks with gazebos tend to be prettiest. Umbrellas repositioned near gazebo. Minal arrives and finds Brijesh anxiously waiting. Sweet words are said. He asks. She says yes!!! Even with a delayed flight and unplanned “rain” they got one memorable proposal for the grandkids. Thankfully we hired a videographer and photographer so she got to see all the hard work he put into making it an incredible night.
