- Once a month, try something new! After year one of a relationship, it’s easy to fall into the same routine of where you go and who you see. In order to keep your relationship as exciting as when you first met, mix it up a little. Spontaneity is one of the most important keys to a happy and successful relationship. (Image Credit)
- Find a hobby together. This goes along with number one. Finding a hobby you both enjoy is an easy way to break the day-to-day mold. Plus, you’ll feel even closer when you bond over your incredible round of golf or the extra mile you ran that day. (Image Credit)
- Every night, before you go to bed, find one thing you’re grateful for in your partner. It could be something as simple as you loving the fact that he took out the trash without you asking. It could be that you love how she makes you smile when you’re sad. No couple is perfect, but realizing how grateful you are about your s/o helps to keep your focus on the good in the relationship, instead of the tiny faults. (Image Credit)
- Have a sit-down dinner. With our fast-pace lifestyles these days, it’s more common for couples to eat separately rather than together. What we miss from those dinners are special times set out during the day to put away the technology, and share what’s going on in our lives. Try to eat together at least once a week. Bonus points if you actually cook the meal together. (Image Credit)
- Take a night to yourself. Even though you are part of a couple, it’s important to take time to remember who you are as an individual. When you know who you are and embrace it, your relationship will thrive. (Image Credit)
