Surprise Visit from A Solider

Surprise Visit from A Solider

Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed working with Elijah on his proposal to Maddie. As many know, military folk typically do not get much time off, so he was challenged with when and how to pop the question.  However, we used his rigid schedule to completely surprise Maddie, when he showed up at her home in Savannah, Georgia.

First, Elijah scheduled a “skype” date with Maddie one Friday evening.  They chatted for awhile about life, their relationship, how they can’t wait until long distance is over, etc. Elijah casually dropped a hint, telling Maddie he is bummed he can’t be there because there is something he wants to ask her but it has to be in person. She knew exactly what he was talking about and wondered when he would have time off to finally ask THE question. That is when she heard the doorbell ring! She opened the door and saw a beautiful, sizable red box (her favorite color) with a note attached. He wrote her a note that read, “Maddie, I love you. There is something I have been meaning to ask you…” She lifted the gift box to find Elijah, dressed in uniform, down on one knee, and holding her sparkly ring. Her heart definitely skipped a beat in total shock.

Maddie didn’t realize her best friend was hiding and taking pictures from the bushes too. After the congratulations, they headed off to a private picnic dinner that her parents graciously set up for the two of them by her favorite lake so they had more time to celebrate together. I love that the night was intimate, not over the top and a complete surprise!

Love,
