“Light Up” your marriage proposal!

marriage proposal

Clearly the soon-to-be fiance will “light up” when he asks for her hand in marriage, so you can add to that brightness! Lighting sets the mood. Candles and/or twinkle lights are traditionally used in marriage proposals to foster a romantic setting. This will continue to be a solid tradition. Remember to use plenty of candles (you’ll want more then ten candles to make that wonderstruck statement you’re going for) or string several light strands for an epic proposal (that’s guy lingo right?!).

Currently trending is to use lights to border signs, to make silhouettes of objects meaningful to the couple or to spotlight the proposal place. You can get pretty creative and personal with this tactic too. While candles are being hung in mason jars from trees, place lanterns or luminaries on the ground to create a pathway to the proposal sight or to spell out words that describe her. This will also guide her to you because she’ll see exactly where to walk. A marriage proposal will get glowing reviews when the man takes the time to “light up” that moment.

Note: When working with candles, there is truth to safety first. Hurricane lamps contain the flame and protect the flame from being extinguished by wind. Battery operated candles are the safest bet if you’re outdoors.

Love,
