I would like to give you a sneak peek into the prepping and planning of one of our very own “Yes Girls” proposal. Kendall got engaged Sunday, August 8th in Dana Point, CA to her four year boyfriend, Tommy. We are so excited (I can barely contain myself) to show you the amazing footage and photos from her bachelor-esk proposal setting. Tommy and Kendall, we love you both, and can’t wait to share your story. But first, let’s go behind the scenes and reveal how it all came to be.

While Kendall thought she was showing up to assist with another client’s proposal (which was all made up to fool her), we were secretly planning Kendall’s engagement with her fiancé, Tommy.  Do you know how hard it is to act normal when we talk every day!? Phew…I don’t think we could have waited another week!

Here are some of the elements Tommy, friends, and the Yes Girls created to personalize their proposal. The truly amazing part was seeing how many friends and family members jumped at the opportunity to contribute to their engagement. That speaks wonders about Tommy and Kendall. Kendall’s roommate, Amber, is an artist and volunteered to paint a portrait of Tommy and Kendall in the classic proposal pose. Kendall, came up with this proposal idea for our fake proposal client, so we thought, how perfect to incorporate one of her ideas for her own proposal! Amber created this gorgeous, animated painting while keeping it all “hush hush” from Kendall. Props to Amber!

Lindsay designed this incredibly chic letter box. She even topped it off with an “R” for the soon-to-be Rodriguez’s. The box signified a place to keep her cards and letters that Tommy would write Kendall throughout their married years.

When we receive a proposal client, we always have him fill out a relationship questionnaire, so we can brainstorm personalized proposal ideas. To make Tommy’s proposal believable, he filled out a questionnaire with fake names, information and relationship details. Kendall thought she was going to set-up for Brad Shannon’s proposal (our made-up client).

Kendall is obsessed with chandeliers, so I created a make-shift chandelier (one that I could travel with) to enhance the romantic atmosphere. Not my best work, but it added chicness to the proposal decor.

Lindsay and I flew down to Orange County for the big surprise. We coordinated the florals and linens with Kendall’s wonderful mom, Carole, and Becca helped us remain incognito. Thankfully, we had so much help to keep it a secret!

getting ready

Sorry this is a total tease but stay tune as you’ll see the proposal come to life! Still to come… behind the scenes with Tommy and his pre-proposal footage, Kendall’s thoughts on contributing to her own proposal, and their proposal story.

Love,
