This project could be one of the easiest, cost-effective and adorable DIY’s we have done yet for a bridal shower. We wanted to have place settings with name cards so we came up with this little number. Personally, I think these came out pretty darn cute! It adds a personal touch and can be easily replicated for your future bridal/baby showers, weddings and special events. Pick up a few supplies and have at it!
What You’ll Need: chalkboard spray paint, white permanent marker, chalk, eraser or towel, and wooden place card (we found ours at Michaels at a great price).
Spray paint your wooden name cards with your chalkboard spray paint. It’s important to get the correct spray paint and not just black spray paint to give that “chalky” look. We found a large can at Michaels.
Take your chalk and scribble a few marks on your name card. Use your towel or eraser to smudge the lines you drew to give a true chalk board background. Next, using a permanent white paint pen, write the name of your guest.

Take your chalk and trace the permanent marker. Again, take your towel and smudge the chalk. It will appear to be written in chalk without the worry of it actually smearing. Repeat the steps with all your name cards.
