You got a taste of the proposal yesterday with the pictures, but here’s the video of the actual proposal, and a little background to how it happened and the amazing vendors we used! This truly was a labor of love since their dance moves are way better than their voices!

Boy Band Marriage Proposal at the Charleston Battery Park by Fox AV

The “Boy Band” takes their places behind park benches and opened newspapers concealing their identities.  The AV crew hunkers down for their cue.  Kendall hides from the elevated portico of The Meeting Place Inn across the street.  Entire families stroll nonchalantly along the path, awaiting the performance to begin.  The anticipation grows palpable.

Enter an unsuspecting Amanda, flanked by eight friends.  The initial notes waft on the evening breeze.  Taylor’s first vocals.  Amanda turns.  “I know that song.” The roommates nudge her forward down the path and into the moment.  Taylor sings his heart out.  Back up boys croon.  The crowd wipes away tears.  Amanda picks up the beat and Taylor’s outstretched hand.  The whole world stops and for a moment, it’s only the two of them.

“I just wanna marry you…marry you.”  Taylor takes a knee.

The little box opens. She says “YES!!!!”

A private horse drawn carriage approaches bearing that message with a hand-fashioned sign tied with brown satin ribbon. “She said Yes!”  Inside the carriage, champagne and a bouquet of white lilies, Amanda’s favorite.

The carriage parades them up Meeting Street to the site of their first date, Magnolia Restaurant.

Uniformed servers wait curbside with a souvenir menu signed by the executive chef.  Taylor and Amanda step inside for appetizers and a rousing restaurant songfest led by the sous chef and all of the diners.

Meanwhile, friends and family gather at the nearby home of a friend to celebrate.  Presents, cake and champagne await Amanda and Taylor and upon their arrival, cheers welcome them.  Kendall finishes the evening with a surprise video of Taylor and Amanda’s story.  Not a dry eye in the house…and that’s the way it should be…because, after all… “She said Yes!”
