A Duet Proposal

It was so apparent that Mark and Lila had this deep connection, especially when it came to creating their music. Mark’s proposal embodied that connection and it was blissfully romantic. He definitely gave Lila a healthy serving of surprise!

Mark planned a little surprise that would take place during Lila’s next singing gig in Portland, Oregon. He made a few phone calls to make sure her family and friends would be in the crowd. One of their friends encouraged Lila to sing one of Mark and her original songs, even though Mark “supposedly” could not attend due to long distance. Onstage, half way through her song, the spotlights turned, shining on Mark as he walked on stage (dressed to the nines) and finish singing the duet with her! With a cheering crowd, they quickly took in their applause and he whisked her off stage into the backstage dressing room.

The dressing room was filled with her favorite pink flowers, champagne, dessert, and post it notes with reasons why he loves her. Lila is infamous for leaving sweet post it notes around his house so he thoughtfully returned the favor.  In the center of the decked out room was a photo/story book with all the reasons Mark wanted to marry Lila. She was so stunned, not only by the surprise visit but also receiving an unexpected proposal! For icing on the cake, Lila didn’t realize her family and friends were in the audience to celebrate their engagement! I just love everything about this proposal story!
