Ok, today I’m splurging. Bare with me. It’s a detour from our typical romantic events but it’s just as close to my heart.
Like most moms, I am in shock I already have a one year old! Even while taking mental snapshots and making a conscious effort to soak up the small moments, the year still flew by! When it came to picking a theme for Case’s birthday party, I wanted to embrace my winter baby even if we do live in So Cal so I dove head first into the mountain + cabin + plaid + sapling theme (otherwise known as lumberjack)! The best part of the theme? I found a handful of decor for free (branches, pinecones, logs, etc)– thanks nature!
Proudly celebrating our little man turning one but also making it as parents! Mama bears (and Papa bears) out there, you get it!

Easy + Yummy Lumberjack Desserts:
S’mores On A Stick + Flap Jacks + Moose Tracks + Log Cake + Eggs and Bacon (white chocolate, pretzels and yellow M&M)
Little Sapling Birthday Favors:
“We hope you enjoy watching your sapling grow as a family just as we have enjoyed seeing our sweet Case grow his first year.”
For The Kiddos:
The little ones (and their parents) enjoyed making the woodland animal masks but the biggest hit of the party was by far Case’s Cabins and Campgrounds all created with old cardboard boxes. The theory reigns true- kids love empty boxes!
The Invite:
Nothing like buffalo plaid and a little lumberjack to make an invite so darn cute.
The party was certainly a whole lotta fun and our sweet boy is blessed with quite the amazing family and friends. Thanks for stopping by The Yes Girls. So PLAID you came!
