Last week I decided to try this simple yet adorable do-it-yourself pom pom. I have a few girlfriend’s bridal showers coming up and I am SO excited to integrate these pom poms into a summertime shower. I can just envision how whimsical they’ll be hanging from the trees. The best part is you can make 3-4 pom poms (depending on the styrofoam size) for $30 without compromising on style. Sign me up!

Materials: Styrofoam ball, hot glue gun, pins, pencil, and cupcake liners.

Step 1: Take a cupcake liner or coffee filter and wrap it around your pencil. Place a pin through the center of the filter and put a generous dab of hot glue on the bottom of the filter.

Step 2: Push the pin into your styrofoam ball and hold until hot glue dries.

Step 3: You can play around with the movement and shape of the filters. Keep repeating the steps above.

When you are finished creating your pom pom, you can display it on a candlestick holder or string it from a tree, light fixture, etc. by clear fishing wire to give your pom a floating effect.

Have fun making your pom poms for your upcoming event and let us know how they turn out!

Love,
