Gooding morning! As much as I love sharing proposal stories and little tid bits of advice for special occasions it’s always nice to get a fresh perspective. Today we have a guest blogger, Marta Segal Block from GigMasters, sharing her thoughts on incorporating entertainment when popping the question. Thanks Marta!
As men have become more involved in wedding planning, wedding proposals have also grown in importance. Whether private or public, a well thought out and romantic proposal is becoming a part of the wedding itself. As the country’s largest online entertainment booking agency, GigMasters couldn’t be happier about this trend. What better place to use entertainment than at a proposal!
The most obvious use of live entertainment is a simple, romantic serenade. If you’re hoping to keep your proposal a complete surprise until the very last minute, a solo guitarist, singer, or violinist is easy to hide.
Like all proposals, your serenade should be personal and meaningful to you. Choose a song that expresses your feelings, or go funny by choosing a song that’s an inside joke. Songs from the early days of your relationship, or songs that played during important moments are also good choices.
Flash mobs may seem like a fad that’s come and gone, but one of the most popular Pins from our boards on Pinterest is of a flash mob. Almost everyone who repined it has it on their “Bucket List” board. If you think it’s on your honey’s list of things to do, why not help her make it happen?
Of course, music isn’t the only way to propose with entertainment. A magician can turn coal in to a diamond right in front of your intended. A mime or a caricature artist can show her what you can’t put in to words and a fortune teller can tell your bride how bright the future together is.
A few months ago on our wedding blog we published a real wedding where the bride and groom hired a murder mystery company to put on a fake mystery at the wedding. How cute an idea would this be for a proposal for the couple that loves to read mysteries or watch old movies together?
Whatever entertainment you choose, remember to keep the proposal itself sweet and from the heart and you can’t go wrong.
Once you’re past the engagement, check out GigMaster’s wedding blog for great wedding entertainment ideas.
Thanks Marta for all the good tips and ideas. We’ll see you all back here tomorrow!
Love,
