Last Friday I got to cross off one incredible item from my bucket list. The Yes Girls planned a marriage proposal for the Today Show!!!! However, the coolest part of my job at the end of the day is not only helping couples create a memory they will have for their LIFETIME but getting to work with some of my FAVORITE people.

16 years later
It seems like yesterday, Lindsay and I were exchanging our “pass book” in between classes, writing about our future husbands and dreaming about how romantic it all would be. This was a no brainer in 7th grade. Our husbands would be best friends. We would live next door to one another. Have a job in weddings that would be all peaches and roses (hard work…please) and of course we all would live happily every after. Right? Well then reality happened. I quickly realized that pursuing a dream would take unfailing commitment and determination. Have each of us Yes Girls had some pretty bad, unromantic dates? Absolutely. As for the business, some thought I was crazy. What’s a proposal planner do anyways? Run a business as military wife when you essentially don’t get a say of where you’ll move next? How do you create romance when your husband gets deployed? Yep, it’s not the easy life I pictured in grade school but it’s also a beautiful thing.
Here’s why I am writing all this. It’s the days like last Friday, where two best friends since 6th school got to create something they always dreamed of doing together; it wasn’t planning a tv wedding but an undeniably romantic proposal which has become our thing! I cannot let the moment pass without being INCREDIBLY THANKFUL! Turns out some of our “fairytale” childhood dreams have become a reality. Our husbands think they are better friends now than Linds and I. We’ll let them think that (wink). So we might not be able to be next door neighbors right now but we will keep on dreaming until it happens! ;) After all, The Yes Girls company is founded on dreams and perseverance.
Air date of the proposal will be announced soon!
