Good morning friends! Tuesday I shared a sneak peak of this gorgeous Napa marriage proposal and couple. Today we have all the works- photos and a little footage Sara Field put together to their song! As I mentioned before, Lauren and Rob met for a weekend of wine tasting and exploring San Francisco. Rob is heading off to a deployment in March so he wanted to make sure he gave Lauren an amazing proposal before heading overseas. Lauren’s giddy laugh and beaming smile throughout the entire proposal completely affirmed Rob accomplished what he hoped when it came to popping the question!
Rob and Lauren arrived at Sullivan Winery in Napa for their first wine tasting. It was the perfect location, breathtaking and intimate. Photographer, Sara and I were already at a table as if just two ordinary friends enjoying a wine tasting which was in fact our perfect set up to capture photos of the couple without Lauren knowing. The wonderful staff (in on the entire surprise) poured the couple’s first tasting but didn’t leave it at that. A “complimentary” lei was also brought out with the tasting. Thinking the winery was just extremely nice she put on her pink lei not realizing quite yet it was her first gift of many, the one that represented their first date. From then on, she receive a small, fairly random item with each wine tasting. Soon she would know the significance and each gift was hand picked by her soon-to-be fiance to share recognize moments in their relationship.
Finishing their tasting, the staff encouraged them to go try the grapes and walk the grounds while they fetched their wine they planned to purchase. Around the corner, through the rose garden and up on a little grass hill awaited their engagement. She found wine glasses with their future monogram and her last special gift…a canvas photo of that exact winery to remember where they always got engaged. The card on the wine barrel explained the meaning behind each item and how he never wanted her to forget something as special as the moment he asked her to be his wife. Lauren answered with an immediate “yes!” and they finished off the day with a few celebration photos, visiting other wineries and a romantic dinner in The City.
