Lenny in Memphis and Sara in New York City, he planned to surprise Sara for a birthday she would never forget! This marriage proposal definitely took some extra dose of craftiness and love, as Lenny and The Yes Girls collaborated from California and Tennesse so his engagement would go off without a hitch! With our trusty photographer extradonaire, Kate Gustafson, Lenny and Sara got photos to document the memory. I bet she didn’t expect that for a birthday gift!
Lenny took Sara out for a surprise birthday dinner but the real surprise was on their way home when they made a pit stop in Central Park. Little did Sara know that an enormous birthday present surrounded by balloons and flower petals awaited her. Along the path, Sara found signs that directed her to the final destination. Her birthday present was inside the birthday box but in order to open, the card instructed her to “pull on the rope to reveal her birthday surprise.” She pulled down on the rope (which was hanging over a tree branch), and the box began to lift, showcasing an incredible vintage engagement ring sign made of battery operated lights! Side note…how cute is that sign?! Never guessing what she had coming, Lenny pulled out her real diamond ring and proposed! His proposal truly “lit up” the night sky!
