Every couple has musts for their dream day; elements or moments that are non-negotiable. After 15 years of experience in the industry, The Yes Girls’ have developed a list of our non-negotiable wedding day musts. Peek below for tips to ensure your day stays true to you.

Backed by Your Dream Team

You have been envisioning your wedding day since the moment your love asked you to marry them (or maybe even before that). Each detail has been envisioned and your aesthetic is clear in your mind. Now it is time to hire vendors who not only understand your vision, but will hold it dear while making logistical decisions throughout the planning and execution processes.

Wear What Your Heart Desires

The day you say “I do” is completely yours which means you can make your day whatever you want. And thankfully, inspiration images, wedding look books, and Bridal shops are all changing to mirror the uniqueness of you! Wear a full length gown or get sassy in a mini dress. Rock a pant suit with a deep V jacket. Adorn your look in ruffles, bows, or lace. Wow your guests in full color. Mix and match patterns. Wear what makes you happy and best represents the you in your love story.

Sneak Away

Weddings and elopements are jam packed days often ruled by a strict timeline and many things to do and see. Carve out as little as 5 minutes after the ceremony “I do” to sneak away with your love and soak in all that has happened so far before celebrating.

Invest in Your Memories

Hiring a dream photographer/photo and video team is a must! These are tangible memories you are investing in, and you will want to be sure they are captured, and more importantly, captured in a way that best represents you. Take a couple of weeks to meet with your potential photographers to get to know their personalities and style. Look through their work and talk them through your vision.

Food is a Must

non-negotiable

As we have mentioned, your wedding/elopement day is a full production, so fill it with food! Start your morning with a filling breakfast either alone to quietly journal and tune in on your big day feelings or a breakfast with your closest pals. Have lunch delivered to you while getting ready for the day, and be sure to drink lots of water! You may even include a cocktail hour before the big celebration to share some tasty bites and custom drinks, then of course, finish with a big dinner!

*TYG insider tip: consider recyclable or biodegradable to-go boxes for your wedding party or even guests so extra food does not go to waste. Sustainability is cool.

Post-Ceremony Attire

non-negotiable

The formal event is complete, and it’s time to let your hair down! Whether it is a simple change of shoes or a full reception outfit moment, getting comfortable to dance the night away is a must. Consider matching jackets for a chilled night, wedding sneakers for dancing feet, or a sassy dress or jumpsuit to move and groove.

Safety First

Pinch me! The dream day has officially ended. Now it is time to cozy up at your overnight accommodations. You and your guests are tired and have possibly been served alcohol. Safety is non-negotiable! It is vital to ensure sleeping accommodations are nearby and safe transportation is readily available (shuttle service, driver service, etc). Get home safely so you can enjoy this forever love!
