January can be a down month for weddings but engagement parties, bridal showers and yes, even baby showers, are still happening in the “off” season. Although I personally don’t have baby fever yet, I have handful of friends whose baby showers I’ve helped with and/or hosted. Whether it’s a bridal or baby shower, personalizing their special day makes it unique, so today I thought I would share some DIY touches you can add to whatever special occasion you have around the corner.

1. Incorporate the Wedding Date , Due Date, Monogram or Names in a fun way. At one baby shower, I incorporated my friend’s due date as the buffet table centerpiece.

2. Practical and Personalized Shower Favors. I loved doing the milk and cookie favors because the baby bottles were also practical for more than 80 percent of the guests.

3. DIY Envelope Clothespin Banner and Prayers/Advice for Guest of Honor. You can incorporate the bride’s wedding colors or the baby’s room colors. The envelope banner is something the bride can reuse at the wedding too!

Simple, sweet and personal touches for the everyday gal! I hope you are inspired for your next shower, no matter what stage in life it’s for!

Love,
