Perhaps you believe a marriage proposal is just a question and “how” and “where” don’t seem to matter. No one will argue, why you’re asking for her hand in marriage is the key and most important element. Consider the “why” the meat on your burger and the “how” and “where” your sesame bun and special sauce. It just tastes WAY better. Food is often the way to my husband’s heart, hence the analogy.

Reasons for a Planned Proposal (The 4 P’s):

    1. Proves your passion for her. This is an easy opportunity to show that she means the world to you by putting in the effort and time.

    2. Purpose in the details. Incorporate details that are intentional. Details that have purpose bring back memories that are personal to your relationship; you and her know exactly what, where and how you felt regarding those memories.

    3. Presentation counts. Giving your girlfriend an overall picturesque scene to walk into provides the intital “wow” factor. When she doesn’t hear all the words you’re saying because she is overwhelmed with joy (it happens), she will remember a stand-out, remarkable scene. It’s easier to remember visuals.

    4. Provide an everlasting memory. Give her a lasting memory that provides undeniable feelings that will transcend through the years. Furthermore, the story will inspire your future generations because everyone wants a good love story to believe in.

There you have it; all the fixings for a marriage proposal. Don’t let yourself settle for a kids hamburger when you can give her a juicy double-double. Just saying.

    Love,
