I’ll be the first to admit women can definitely make the SURPRISE factor of a marriage proposal challenging. I’m 100% for discussing marriage and where things are headed in a relationship but there are a few things I’ve learned after planning over 1000 marriage proposals and working with guys who are trying so hard to make it memorable…they deserve a little more faith! I would love to throw out there for those “ladies in waiting”; below are a few tips I created off of the complaints I’ve heard first hand from men. I saw this new TV show series promo and thought it was the perfect lead into some tips for those women that are so excited, digging for clues, and/or can hardly stand the wait any longer. Just take a look!

If you’re waiting for him to pop the question:

1. He is more aware than you think.  If you’re best friend has access to your “Engagement/One Day/Rings I Love/etc” Pinterest board than so does he.

2. He deserves a little more credit. If you’ve discussed marriage and even when you would ideally like to get married, most of the time there is something going on behind the scenes.

3. Be Flexible. He is going to do his best to make it a surprise which means if you aren’t willing to do anything outside of your plans it makes it nearly impossible to surprise you. You don’t need to change who you are or stop planning fun weekends but just keep that in the back of your mind.

4. Have your nails done already. If you are adamant about having your nails done when he pops the question then just keep them painted. There isn’t a very sly or non-obvious way for him or a friend to suggest you get your nails done without that being a major hint.

5. Stop Snooping. The might be fun a fun process to act like a detective but in reality if you figure it out, it takes the fun away from you and essentially all his hard work. Try to just be in the moment and let go of the clues.

If you or a friend of yours is getting antsy or wondering if those unforgettable words, “Will You Marry Me?” are ever coming, remember to try and give him credit. If he loves you and you’re in a healthy, communicative relationship then he will take care of it. Give up the reigns and let him have fun making it special for you. :)
