My grandmother used to make ornaments for everyone in the family each year. I remember looking forward to what my ornament would look like and the excitement was always at a peek when we would put up that bare Christmas tree and waited for my grandma to start passing out that year’s ornament. Once my grandmother passed away one of my cousin’s took the initiative to keep the tradition alive. Last weekend I had the honor of helping my cousin create some of these gifts for our family!
Here is what you will need to create your own Egg Ornaments:
– eggs
– Mod Podge
– decorating supplies (we used glitter and paint, but you can use whatever you want)
– manicure scissors
– fishing wire
– sewing needle
1) First empty out the egg by creating a small hole and paint with Mod Podge (both inside and outside for a stronger shell)
2) After that has dried we painted the outside of the shell and then rolled the whole thing in glitter
3) Once that has dried use the manicure scissors to cut a hole big enough to decorate the inside
4) We used cotton and small charms to fill the inside
5) After everything is dry we threaded the needle with fishing wire and then fed it through the top of the egg shell to create a loop to attach an ornament hook to.
