Since last Friday I have been a VERY happy girl! My husband finally came home after a 6 month deployment so forgive me but I’m having a hard time thinking of anything else! This is more a personal blog post today but while he was away I sent him these cards to open for different days/emotions (when he had a good day, when he was homesick, when he missed the dogs, on Valentine’s Day, when he completed his final flight, the day he was coming home, etc). However, I think it would be fun to do for your loved one on any long business trip or time a part, not just for a deployment so here is a cute but simple DIY for the next time your honey is out of town.
There aren’t many moments that your life feels like a movie but for me this was one of them. I got to wait at the gate so as he came off the plane, I ran up to him with my sign and we hugged after a long 188 days with a very sweet and applauding crowd. We both were a bit embarrassed with the “spotlight” factor but what an incredible welcome back for him and a day I will NEVER forget!
