Showered With Love

We love sharing our marriage proposals, but with proposals come engagement parties and bridal showers, which we are, well, obsessed with too.  I’m sorry but I have to brag a little today. My girlfriends (which happen to be a few of our Yes Girls) have excellent taste and when it came to planning my bridal shower, they spoiled me. There was love in every detail, and they definitely put thought into each one. It was feminine, classy, chic and just shouted girly. I loved every inch of their design and the day. I hope it inspires you for upcoming engagement parties and showers.

The shower was held in our friend, Melissa’s, beautiful backyard which totally played into their springtime, garden filled theme. For the flower centerpieces they used hydrangeas, roses, and stock which were all flowers I was using in my wedding. The centerpieces were also adorned with words of affirmations that (supposedly) describe me. I don’t always live up to their kind words but I loved how they all came up with the words together and the thoughtfulness behind the details. The girls handmade the H and K letters which I now have in my office. Definitely take advantage of any cute DIY ideas. The favors were floral scented bars of soap, which were wrapped in adorable springtime paper. After champagne toasts, delicious lunch, and gifts they finished the evening with a “how well do you know your future husband” game. They videotaped Kyle’s responses to questions and then asked me the same to see if our answers aligned. Personally, I love the sweet but not over the top cheesy shower games. Overall, it was a beautiful day and I hope you love all the decor as much as I do.
