As you all know we love planning fabulous, romantic proposals but it doesn’t end there. I truly get excited to help plan anything when it comes to thoughtful acts of love. This particular story, revolves around my parents 25th wedding anniversary. After 30 years of dating and 25 years of marriage, my dad wanted to plan it right and keep it a surprise. After watching The Bachelor (Yes, we’re guilty of it) and hearing her make several comments about New Zealand, we knew it was the perfect place to go for their anniversary.
After two weeks of planning, we had their flights, hotels, and activities booked! This is how my dad presented the surprise anniversary gift. He gave her a stuffed Kiwi bird with a note that said “please take me home.” It was a hint to figure out her anniversary present. The Kiwi bird is the national symbol of New Zealand so we found this oddly, cute stuffed Kiwi. After some googling, she found out they were going to New Zealand!
One year later, they still constantly reference insides jokes and moments in New Zealand, so I would say the surprise anniversary getaway was a total success. If we start saving now, maybe someday we can experience an anniversary of a lifetime “down under.”
Love,
