These two lovebirds are truly something else! We had the honor of planning this beautiful proposal on Kiawah Island (just outside of Charleston), plus the surprise engagement party that immediately followed. The client called us back in April and we started planning right away! He knew he wanted to propose at Kiawah Resort (since his girlfriend has always wanted to get married there), and he knew that he would need to fly out about 40 to 50 friends and family to witness the proposal. We played a little bit of “travel agent” for this one; we found accommodations for the guests, arranged the charter flight down to Kiawah Island and the transportation from the Executive Airport to the Andell Inn (where the guests stayed). Then we put our planning pants back on and created an epic engagement party! Rented a private villa on the beach, had a catering company come in and serve hors d’oeuvres, top-shelf bar service, a donut bar display (since the bride-to-be loves donuts), and a raw bar (who doesn’t love sushi and oysters at the beach). There was a three piece band that played fun music all night long, and some pretty spectacular florals that covered the home and pool!
