What can I say, marriage proposal “summer” season is back in full throttle and I am soaking up every bit of it. Let’s be honest, when we get an adorable and sweet couple like Nick and Jenna it makes our job 100 times more enjoyable and fun! Nick, crazy in love with his lady, wanted to do something personal and intimate for his future bride. Both in school to become doctors, it was a much needed vacation! Nick wanted to avoid the public eye so it was JUST the two of them while keeping it a complete surprise! In fact it felt very special ops; we did most of the coordinating with Nick via his amazing mom, Georgia! Jenna was the one who made their hotel reservations at the fabulous Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Denver, so Nick decided it was the perfect place…but with a “slight” upgrade involved. The Yes Girls got to planning the details.
When Nick and Jenna arrived, she had no idea that one their room was changed to the presidential suite but when she walked inside she found a breathtaking view, not only because the balcony overlooked downtown Denver BUT he had a gorgeous, intimate proposal created all for her. A white rose monogram, white roses bouquets (her fav) and three suitcases that represented pieces of travel, memories, and dreams he promises to help her fulfill. Each suitcase adorned with a custom luggage tag. Starbucks is their favorite date spot (and their first date location) so Starbucks “city” mugs from special locations- Phoenix (where they met), California (where they’ll marry), and Denver (where he asked!) were inside each suitcase. Other items included doctor scrubs and red bulls for Phoenix, kids book and Italian cookbook for California and “C” monogram for her future last name and picture frame indicating [Insert Engagement Photo Here]. Every last time was well thought out.
She said “yes!” but the fun surprises didn’t end there! Laura Gravelle, our talented Denver photographer, arrived to take engagement photos of the two love birds at the proposal site and the iconic 16th Street. To top off the night, they left in a horse carriage to an authentic Italian dinner with a sign hanging on the back…”Just Engaged!” Nick’s marriage put a whole new spin on proposing in a hotel room!
