We have another proposal feature today (no pun intended)! Joseph sent us his movie trailer proposal and his take on how the whole thing went down. I love that all her family and friends were hiding in the theater and she had NO clue. Well done Joseph. I always wish I was in the movie theaters when a proposal like this is going down. Congrats to the lovebirds!
Joseph’s Story:
On Monday, January 16th, 2012, I surprised the most amazing woman in my life, Kandice Cihlar, with a marriage proposal we will always remember.
The surprise went like this…
On that Monday, I left for a business trip for two days. Really, I didn’t though. But that is what I told Kandice to make her think I was out of town. Kandice’s close girlfriends planned a random “girls night out” that Monday evening, including dinner and a movie.
But it wasn’t random at all.
After dinner, Kandice thought she was getting ready to go watch a movie with her girlfriends. When they got in the theater, before the movie started, there were a number of movie trailers/previews that played (just like they normally do).
Then, to her surprise, a movie trailer played that was made specifically for this night…specifically for Kandice. A montage of famous love scenes were put together, played behind the song “Marry Me” by Train. It wasn’t until the end, when Kandice heard the words “The Proposal…Coming to this theater…Right Now!” and a picture of the two of us appeared on the big screen that she realized what was happening.
After the special movie trailer played, with my heart in my hand, I surprised Kandice (with over 100 of our family and friends in the theater) and asked her to marry me. Our engagement party followed immediately after in the bar & lounge area located within the iPic Theater of Bolingbrook, IL.
Congrats to Joseph and Kandice may you have a “Happily Ever After” just like the movies!
Love,
The Yes Girls
