Although Napa Valley is naturally our California vineyard go-to, there are gorgeous vineyards and wineries all over the country! Start your search online via search engine or social media. Once you find a few options that totally match your vision, start finding out the nitty gritty. Is your date available? What packages are offered? What are the inclusions in those packages? Are outside decor/flowers permitted? Do they offer their own event coordinating services or do you need to call The Yes Girls?
Create the Ruse
You’ve got your venue. Now how to get your love onsite without spoiling the surprise! We suggest creating a ruse and getting everyone in on it (venue staff, guests, event coordinator, etc). Our go to ruse for this type of proposal is a simple tour with a tasting to follow. As the venue staff greets you at the welcome area, they will pretend to be taking you and your love on the usual tour and tasting package. They will lead the two of you through the gorgeous grounds, dropping a few facts along the way, on what seems like the usual tour, but is actually the path to your proposal set up!
Propose!
The venue staff have now led you to your down one knee spot. Before it completely takes your love’s breath away, guide them gently to the focal point then drop down on one knee. After they say “YES!” you may continue taking pictures together before being let to your on-site tasting whish is waiting for you to the side of your proposal spot.
Guided Tasting
Now the nerves have settled and it is time to relax. The winery will provide a few wines for you and your love to try. Add elegance and romance to your tasting by hiring an event design and planning team like The Yes Girls to create the dreamiest table scape.
