Insure Your Bling

Any of you with an engagement ring on your finger, know how frightening it would be if you were to lose it.  Not only do you have to go through the anxiety of telling your fiancé and preparing for his reaction, but you also have to go through the troubles of replacing your ring. This is so important, make sure your boyfriend knows to insure your ring, even before he puts it on your finger! Why? Here’s an example.

For the 24 year old actress, Megan Fox, this all rang too true.  Fox has been with Beverly Hills 90210 star, Brian Austin Green since she was 18 years old.  After ending their first engagement in February 2009, Green proposed once again on a recent romantic vacation in Hawaii earlier this month.  Outside of their Four Seasons Hualalai hotel, he popped the question with a two-carat diamond ring, they both had recently picked out together at the Excalibur Jewelry Store in Beverly Hills.

Just like most girls on that special day, Fox was seen jumping up and down with excitement.  Unfortunately, being to overjoyed led Fox to lose and drop the ring somewhere in the sand.  Even, the staff from the hotel was helping the couple search.  Despite the many hours sifting through the sand, the ring was never found.  My heart goes out the to the couple!

Only having the ring for a few moments, there were no pictures taken of the once again-newly engaged and her ring.  The platinum ring from the 1930‘s, an old mine cut with filigree sides and pavé diamonds was estimated to be worth around $60,000.

Note for fiancées-to-be: make sure your ring is insured right away. We’ve heard of lost rings and cracked diamonds, so it’s very necessary to get it insured under your insurance company. Then if something does happen, they will be there to guide you in replacing your beloved ring and you won’t be out thousands of dollars. As exciting and special as this moment will be for you, be careful when flinging your arms when saying, “yes!”
