If someone you love has passed, you know that remembering their spirit at your wedding is of utmost importance. For me, my wedding would be missing many deceased family member but most significantly my dad. I spent hours trying to figure out the balance between “remembrance” and “this isn’t a funeral”! Ultimately, I did a little combination of a few things: a bracelet with my dad’s signature (so he could “walk me down the aisle”), a seat left empty at our ceremony, and a patch of one of his blue work shirts inside my dress (as my something blue). But for different brides, different things will have more meaning and be a better fit. so here are a few ideas that I thought were particularly sweet and honorable ways of remember those who have passed.
