This enchanting Little Mermaid-themed marriage proposal in the heart of New York City was nothing short of a fairytale, filled with whimsical details, stunning florals, sweet treats, and “whosits and whatsits galore!” The love story of Eric and Ariel (yes, just like the beloved characters from the movie!) made this theme all the more special and meaningful.
Eric put so much thought into creating a proposal that would sweep Ariel off her feet. Since he originally asked her to be his girlfriend with a box of Sprinkles cupcakes, he knew he had to incorporate the same sweet tradition into his proposal. This time, the cupcakes were beautifully displayed on a glamorous vanity—a nod to Ariel’s love for makeup. The setup was straight out of an under-the-sea dream, complete with gorgeous flowers, delicate pearls, and shimmering treasures, designed to resemble a magical ocean floor.
The room also adorned with gold balloons, each one tied to a photo of the couple, symbolizing their journey together. Since they first connected on Instagram, it was a sentimental way to reflect on their love story. To add an extra romantic touch, a heartfelt message—“I love you to the moon and back”— on the vanity mirror, creating a truly picture-perfect moment.
The Proposal
When the time came, Eric got down on one knee and asked Ariel the most important question of their lives. After she joyfully said “Yes!”, he revealed another box of Sprinkles cupcakes, this time with the words “She Said Yes” written on them—an adorable and delicious way to celebrate their new engagement!
