Some may call it fate that The Yes Girls ended up marriage proposal consultants. Back in college, we discussed the idea of helping gentlemen get creative with their proposals but there was one event in particular that I will never forget. It’s like it was God handing us our very first proposal in the most unexpected way.
The Yes Girls and a few other amazing girlfriends planned our schedules so we could study abroad in Rome together. Yes, together! We spent an entire semester traveling Europe and living in a somewhat crazy apartment. Not too shabby! One weekend, the girls and I decided we would head off to Prague, Czech Republic. Talk about walking into a fairy tale…everywhere you looked you saw Sleeping Beauty’s or Snow White’s castle! Loving the city, we decided to make our way up the clock tower for the ultimate view. We stepped into the elevator, and met a nice guy named Tim who looked a little nervous. Maybe he was afraid of elevators? Nope! We found out he was on his was up the clock tower to propose to his girlfriend, Laura! We of course, immediately starting eating it all up, asking him questions about her, and about his exact plans when he reached the top. Within one elevator ride, Tim was ecstatic and we were hurrying our way back down the tower to pick up fresh roses before Laura arrived. We quickly grabbed a handful of roses from a flower cart and before we knew it, we were hiding in the tower anxiously awaiting for Laura and her friend to arrive.
When Laura saw Tim, she was completely confused. What are you doing here?!! What’s going on?!! Tim immediately put her confusion to rest and asked Laura to be his wife on top of the Prague Clock Tower, a view people dream about. That’s when us girls came around the corner and started handing her our bushels of roses, one by one, as an extra surprise! It was the first official proposal we got an opportunity to be apart of, in a small but special way. I will never forgot those two and how much fun a few soon-to-be Yes Girls had together!
Pardon the blurry photo but it’s the only group shot we got!
Love,
