This gorgeous Valentine’s Day proposal at The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel was oh so sweet! John came to us wanting to plan a perfect surprise proposal for his girlfriend Ellen that would make their Valentine’s a day they would cherish forever. It was important to John that we honed in on Ellen’s love language, words of affirmation, while also creating a romantic moment that was the perfect balance between modest and awe-inspiring.
We wanted to be sure to incorporate personal and thoughtful touches throughout the setting, that really spoke to Ellen. First off, we set the tone by focusing on her favorite colors of pink, white and gold. A wall of gold bookshelves lined the beautiful coastline and was filled with single-stem bud vases, in shades of pale pinks and pastels. Along with a flower, each bud vase held a small tag with various words of affirmation that described the many things that John loves about Ellen.
We learned that the couple adores their sweet dogs, so John wrote notes on behalf of their two dogs Gus and Pixie for Ellen to read upon her arrival. We also had a custom hand painted crest displayed in a gold frame that included their dog’s cute faces and the couple’s new monogram. The final frame on the bookshelf was from John, expressing his love for Ellen. As she finished reading the letter it prompted him to get down on one knee to pop the question! After the couple enjoyed the intimate moment together and soaked in the beautiful scenery, Ellen’s parents came out of hiding to surprise her and celebrate all together!
