Eric and Katie dated four years before he proposed, which meant he had hundreds of memories with Katie. Their first date was on her birthday, so he brought Katie a dozen balloons and a chick flick movie she loved; he consulted her best friend who matched them together. Smart move. She just loved that he brought her balloons because it reminder her of birthdays as a kid. It’s now tradition for Eric to buy Katie balloons on holidays. So this is how the proposal went…

We thought incorporating their tradition, aka balloons, would be a perfect touch. Eric filled her room with hundreds of pink and green balloons (her favorite colors). On a note, he wrote a memory or a reason why he loved her and put one inside or tied to every balloon. When she finally popped most of the balloons, she could see a picture frame on her bed. Inside the frame was an empty pink balloon and a note. The note read, “Will you make this moment another unforgettable memory? Katie, I love you.” That’s when John came in her door, holding the last balloon with her engagement ring tied to the string. She was on cloud 9!

This is a great anniversary idea too. When your sweetheart gets home, having a room decked out in balloons with little memory notes attached will be a complete surprise!
